Marius Skrondal

Hans Marius Skrondal, CFA (Norwegian citizen) is a technology-focused investment professional. He holds an MBA in Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School (2018) and an MSc in Applied Physics (Quantum Mechanics and Numerical Physics) from NTNU Trondheim, including an exchange year at UC Berkeley.

Most recently, he spent six years at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM, the $1.6tn Norwegian sovereign wealth fund), latterly as Portfolio Manager for global technology in New York (2019–2025), where he (having grown the book from $500) managed up to $5.7bn, and generated 8% annualized alpha since inception. Earlier roles at NBIM covered technology and telecom equity research in New York and London, including a placement with UBS Investment Bank, plus an initial analyst role in Oslo building risk tools and quantitative selection strategies.

His earlier experience includes an HFT/algorithmic trading internship in Hong Kong and military service with the Royal Norwegian Navy. He has elementary programming skills (Python, R, C++, SQL), works with Bloomberg and FactSet, and enjoys climbing, skiing and hiking. 

Marius is the Head Portfolio Manager of the Symbit Global L/S Equity Fund.
